MABE - SHOOTS: Baja California - Behind The Scenes

We travelled to Baja California in Mexico for our Summer 22 shoot this year. It was Aaaa-Mazing to get out and about again after so long, to hit the open road and to feel the sun on our faces and tacos in our bellies. Our beautiful model this year was Vanessa Cruz, born in the same tiny area of Brazil as Gisele – there must be something in the water there! 

Baja California is a peninsular that stretches more than a thousand miles down from America’s West Coast, it’s a truly unique place where the dry cactus filled desert meets the turquoise blue ocean, discovered by the wandering surfers of America in the 1970’s, drawn in by the perfect waves and peaceful laid back Mexican atmosphere.

We quickly settled into Mexican life as our jetlag faded, the views are breath taking at points, with the vastness of nature as far as the eye can see, we were treated to a show by magnificent migrating Whales every evening as they came up for air and to play in the setting sunlight with their newly born calfs. 

Here’s a little glimpse from the other side of the camera as we went about our day. There’s plenty more to come from Baja and we’ll be showing you some of the discoveries we made along the way and introduce you to some of the amazing people we met, who have a very special place to call home.
